There are two railway stations in Athens serving mainland Greece. Inter-city train services have improved over the past ten years and an efficient service runs between Athens and Thessaloniki in the north of Greece.

Larissa Station (31 Theodorou Deliyianni) is at the west end of Akti Kondili in Piraeus and can be reached by taking trolley no 1 from Panepistimiou St. Trains leave from here for Thessalonika and Alexandroupolis as well as for international
destinations

Phone Bookings: 210 529 7313 Credit card payments are accepted over the phone and tickets will be delivered by courier (three days notice required). Group tickets will be delivered free of charge provided that their combined value exceeds Euro 88.04.

Sleepers are available on overnight trains in either single, double or triple compartments (some space in compartments with up to six berths) and cars can be loaded on board for Thessaloniki although it should be noted that space for this service is limited.

Peloponnese Station (Theodorou Deliyianni & 3 Sidirodromon) is at the east end of Akti Kondili in Piraeus and can be reached by taking bus no 57 from Panepistimiou. This is the main station for departures for the Peloponnese.
