Around
Athens there are numerous beaches and swimming pools. If
you are looking for a beach that has sun beds and
bar/changing facilities you will have to pay an entrance
fee ranging from 3 - 12 per person per day. Of
course there are beaches in Ag Marina, Lagonisi, Nea
Makri, Skoinia, Marathon, Porto Rafti, Porto Germanos,
Loutsa as well as many other places, which are free of
charge.
By
boat you can easily get to Aegina from Pireaus and to
Evia Eritrea from Oropos, Stira from Agia Marina,
Marathonas and Karistos from Rafina for a day trip. Be
sure to take plenty of water, shade, sunscreen and a hat
wherever you are going.
Listed
below is a guide to some of the many beaches and pools
available. Most private beaches have discounted entrance
fees for local residents* and some discounts are also
available for EOT beaches which are now privately
managed if you have 4 or more children, if you are a
pensioner or if you are disabled.
*Proof
of residence must be shown on entrance to the beach. You
obtain this from your local town hall by providing them
with some proof of residency i.e. phone or electric bill
in your name and also proof of identity (i.e. passport
or residence permit.)

worth a visit, beautiful setting under a vast rock - the
lakes temperature remains between 20 - 27°C all year
round. You are not permitted to wear suntan lotion or
oil etc whilst in the lake. Sun beds and umbrellas
included in the price but are limited so go early.
Cafeteria and snacks available, but you may take your
own food. Toilet and shower facilities. You may come to
the lake for a coffee and sit in the cafeteria and not
pay an entrance fee the cafeteria is also open after the
lake closes.
