Many of today's events are still held in some of the ancient theatres and are well worth visiting at least once.
ATHENS FESTIVAL THE ODEION OF HERODES ATTICUS:
The Odeion of Herodes Atticus Box Office, Box Office in central Athens: 4 Stadiou Street: A festival of Ancient and Modern Greek plays, classical music, concerts, modern dance and ballet is held every summer from June to the end of September. Pavarotti, Careras and Callas as well as some of the most world-renowned orchestras and maestros have performed here. Programmes for the year's events are available at the box offices.

LYCAVITTOS THEATRE:
Modern open-air theatre situated at the top of Lycavittos hill. One of the venues for the annual Athens Festival.

ATHENS CONCERT HALL- MEGARON MOUSIKIS:
Vas Sophias & Kokali. Opened in 1991, modern concert/conference hall and theatre. The main hall seats 2,000 and is renowned for its exceptional acoustics. The Megaron also has exhibition space in the large reception areas, a restaurant, bars, record shop and a 500-seat recital hall.

GREEK NATIONAL OPERA HOUSE:
59-61 Acadamias, Athens. Performances are given by the Greek National Opera Company and the National Ballet Company.

ACROPOLIS LIGHT AND SOUND:
Box office, 4 Stadiou.  Performances are given every evening between April and October. English performances start at 21:00 on the hill of Pnyx. The Parthenon and Acropolis Hill are floodlit in line with a commentary on the history of the city.

DORA STRATOU DANCE THEATRE:
Founded 35 years ago, this company has performed worldwide. Traditional Greek dances, in costume and songs are performed every evening (except Monday) from May to September on the Hill of Philoppapou, near the Acropolis.

ANCIENT EPIDAVROS THEATRE:
For summer events contact the Greek festival box office on Summer Events and performances held in this beautiful ancient amphitheatre. The acoustics here are world-renowned. The amphitheatre has 50 tiers, which can accommodate an audience of 15,000.
