transport as there will be many road restrictions. The
public transport systems will run to full capacity with
5 bus services and 4 trolley services running on a 24hr
basis, as will the Athens ISAP train service Metro line
1. Over the same period the Metro lines 2 and 3 will
operate until 2am.
A
tram service will run from Glyfada to Piraeus (Peace and
Friendship Stadium) via the Hellinikon Complex (south
entrance), the Marina and the Volley Stadium. The tram

route is not yet finished and exact routes have not yet
been released.
Park
and Ride facilities will be in operation at the outlying
event areas, e.g. Markopoulo and Skinia.
The
Metro line is very quick and efficient running from
Kifissia to Piraeus, Ilioupoli to Ag. Antonios and
Ethniki Amina, thus connecting north, east, west and
southern suburbs.
Extra express buses will run for the
duration of the games. Organisers say these buses will
be frequent, with extra services before and after Games

and mainly link to other means of public transport.
